Business Development Manager
MatOx seeks to appoint an experienced business developer and project manager to the position of Business Development Manager who will report to the board. The applicant will play a key role in the strategic development of the business, while at the same time engaging in hands-on deal creation and relationship management of the company´s key accounts.
- The Role

- Working with the MatOx leadership team in development of overall business strategy and in operational/financial planning
- Development of marketing strategies for varied technologies into multiple, highly specialized markets
- Management and strategic development of client relationships
- Identifying new prospective clients
- Networking and contact building through trade show and conference attendances
- Communicating benefits of our technologies
- Working with MatOx project management staff to develop complex project proposals, including agreement on schedules and budgets
- Working with international clients to deliver solution-oriented, project-based sales, including deal structuring and contract closure
- Managing and mentoring MatOx´s project managers; commercial oversight and strategic steering of ongoing projects
- The Person

- PhD in an appropriate technical area (scientist or engineer) is desirable but not essential
- Several years of experience in business development with demonstrated success in:
- Creating complex technology development collaborations in the physical sciences domain
- Deal closure involving negotiation of complex contractual frameworks and technology licences
- Building client relationships
- General commercial awareness; some understanding of one or more of the typical MatOx end-markets would be advantageous
- Ambitious, self-starter who will take the initiative in developing client relationships
- Professional and confident, good people skills, comfortable holding discussions with senior-level technical and commercial clients
- Good project management/organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language); professional presentation style
- Able to demonstrate some international experience
- The role will be based in Oxford but the ideal candidate should be willing to travel on a regular basis
