Industrial Partners
MatOx is in regular dialogue with top-tier industrial companies from various industrial sectors concerning their needs for materials development and solutions that MatOx may provide. In the field of coatings, for example, we entered into a three-year development collaboration with Beckers Industrial Coatings Holding AB. Under the terms of this agreement MatOx will use computational approaches to design new and unique coatings products with controllable functionality. Beckers and MatOx will work in partnership to take these functional coating products to market for use in key applications
Academic partners
MatOx has an extensive network of relationships with universities and research institutes worldwide. For example, MatOx is working with world-leading academics at Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) to develop and apply computational modeling and simulation in the design of breakthrough new materials, particularly functional coatings. The work will be carried out at COMP, a national Center of Excellence for computational nanoscience at TKK. COMP carries out a wide spectrum of research in materials theory and multiscale modeling, with applications ranging from novel coatings and nanoscale materials and quantum devices to biologically relevant problems. It employs more than 60 people in seven research groups. COMP has access to world-class computational facilities and cutting-edge software.
